And why do you choose that kind?
And if you could feed any type of hay, what would be your first choice?
My first choice is orchard/alfalfa. That said, during the drought last year, when hay was difficult to find, and expensive when it was found, I settled for a nice grass mix with [...]
Is there an equation to tell me approximately how much to feed a given horse. I know that there are many factors, but I just need an estimate. I need to take into account weight and work load. Does anyone know of a good website with ration information.

I do not have a horse yet; I’m trying to figure out how much money I need to feed a horse. I live in a desert, so I can’t have any green pasture.

$200 a ton. Why grow alfalfa hay unless you feed it to cows or
other animals? It seems $5 corn & $10 soybeans are a better
way to go. What gives you a better bottom line?
If roundup herbicide is used on a 40 acre corn field, is it safe to seed the same 40 acres in brome/alfalfa hay in mid-Oct.'07 and expect a decent hay production by May/June '08?
My husband and I are farmers. Roundup is a kill all weeds chemical that according to package directions will [...]
